Otter Lieffe: Margins and Murmurations Book Tour & ‘Screaming Queens’ screening

Tue 13Jun

7pm - 9pm

Everyone needs more transfeminism in their lives.

Otter Lieffe, author of Margins and Murmurations is on tour with her new book!

Written by a trans woman and sex worker, this brand new novel puts transgender, sex work and femininity at the centre of its twisting, multi-layered narrative. In this sensitive exploration of exclusion and intimacy, control and healing, the author calls us to renew our struggles against oppression and to proudly reclaim the margins that so many of us call home.

"Literally, could not put it down! Amazing, inspiring, moving... This is some bad-ass speculative fiction right here."

During this event, Otter will be reading from the book and signing copies. She will also introduce ‘Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria’ by Victor Silverman and Susan Stryker - an awesome, powerful documentary about transgender women and drag queens who fought police harassment at Compton's Cafeteria in San Francisco's Tenderloin in 1966, three years before the famous riot at Stonewall Inn bar in NYC.
