PETIT MACHINS presents….

GALAXIANS

Taking their cues from early 80s NY labels such as SAM, Are ‘n’ Bee, Sleeping Bag and post-disco producers such as Leroy Burgess and John Morales, Galaxians fuse classic Roland TR analog drum machine sounds with acoustic drums and synthesizers played live, always placing the soulful unpredictability of the human hand and heart at the forefront of their live shows.

GAME_PROGRAM

On this tour Galaxians will be accompanied (UK dates only) by Game_Program, aka Jonathan Nash (Hookworms / Nope / Cowtown).
Modelled on influential Detroit, NYC, and Chicago house pioneers such as Ron Hardy, Mr Fingers, and Elbee Bad, Game_Program utlilizes all of the classic elements of early house music experimentation to produce the kinds of jams labels such as Trax championed back in the day. GP’s songs are simple, direct, soulful and organic, the stand-out of which so far being ‘Infinite Light feat. Heywood Floyd’.

Angurosakuson presents…
A night of exquisite harsh electronics!

PHIL JULIAN

‘If it ever feels like I’m repeating myself, that’s when I’ll stop what I’m doing.’ The uncompromising Phil Julian (AKA CheapMachines) has droned and noised-off since 1997 in London. He is consistently inconsistent, preferring rugged experimentation and deviation from repeating himself.

At last year’s Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival he blipped and fizzed in Maja Ratkje’s symphonic noise piece, ‘Crepuscular Hour’, but Julian’s just as content with a humble city gig.

HOBO SONN

Brighton-based Ian Murphy isn’t new to Leeds, being joined by Spoils & Relics’ Kieron Piercy last year at Wharf Chambers. They performed an intense sort of breathing space between the other night’s noise acts. Murphy’s dizzying synth swirls and dense bell tones will transform the ceiling into a whole cosmos – lying down recommended!

‘sidelong micro-orchestras of idyllic decay and drift . . . strangely soothing’
- Doug Mosurock

Recording of performance with Kieron Piercy

FOLDHEAD

Smell & Quim mischief-maker Paul Walsh delights in fuzzed-up radio nonsense, gleeful static and rushes of noise. Well-crafted and intense.

HAGMAN

Tupperware electronics and home-made mbiras – telepathic and heavenly drones, expertly layered!

MOSS PIGLETS

Nubile duo of Pete Cann (Half an Abortion, Inverted Nepal) + Pascal Ansell (Panelak) construct a noise totem of dense, low-brow noise clatterings, celebrating muck and precision.
