“Rooted in improvisation, Dan is a staple of Bristol’s experimental music community and an expressionist solo drummer in his own right, constantly exploring and searching for new ways to examine the acoustic possibilities of drums and rhythm within obscure and abandoned spaces.” or so he tells me….
Seemingly the Kevin Bacon of decent music from Bristol (or however the Bacon effect works) he’s appeared in projects like EP/64, Wendy Miasma, Robert Ridley Shackleton and many more!
“Lighght’s strange and ever-evolving musical output explores a range of wild sound material – from the crushing and contorted to the tactile and ambient” or so he tells me…
Whatever it’ll be will probably lie on the spectrum between glitchy computer music and BANGERS
Seemingly uplifting any musical project he comes in contact with Karl is an amazing polymath happily producing raw gothic pop music, skronking noise rock with Drunk in Hell, Bodywork, Cattle and Gnod or expanding his impressive resume as a alto saxophonist (which he’ll be rocking solo tonight). Has performed with Thurston Moore, Damo Suzuki, Okkyung Lee, Ex-Easter Island Head, Rhys Chatham, Gwilly Edmondez, Helm, The New Blockaders and Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire.
Absolutely shreddddding harsh noise full of texture, variety and spontaneity live but all rooted from a far ore complex place than dull ol’ white bloke grumps of most of its fare. Confounding, audience disrupting and subtly silly but not a dull moment. THIS IS A GUARANTEE I WILL NOT BE TAKING QUESTIONS CHEERS
