A>R>S>D>I>Y> & Wharf Chambers presents:
A night of experimental percussion & minimalist rock
MAN FOREVER (NYC)
John Colpitts (a.k.a. Kid Millions of Oneida) will be premiering a new show that investigates his recent experience of being involved in a traumatic car accident. What form that will take will be a surprise on the night but previous appearances at Wharf Chambers have included pieces involving three drummers playing one drum in an intense meditation of single note roles, and an amazing trance-like piece which involved him playing the fastest beat possible on the kick drum, while he used his voice, the rest of his limbs and two additional musicians to add insane phased patterns and filigree. ????? Who knows ????? Exciting
SHAKEEB ABU HAMDEN (Beirut)
You may know him as the one time sound engineer of Wharf Chambers or as the drummer in many quality Leeds DIY bands such as The Wub, Please and Cleckhuddersfax. Now residing in Beirut, Keeby is returning to our shores to demonstrate his new approaches to solo prepared drumkit. Featuring loads of megaphones, triggers and bells and whistles snagged in Lebanese flea markets, another wild card but it will definitely be great.
Catch local minimalist rock heroes before they embark on their UK tour supporting Shellac!!! Everyones favourite catchy-yet-janky, angular-yet-swinging, witty-yet-banal post-punk combo.
