FRESH FROM EDINBURGH FRINGE, L FEST LESBIAN FESTIVAL, TRANS PRIDE BRIGHTON & LONDON LGBTQ+ PRIDE PICNIC
What happens when you tumble out of the big pink closet and across the LGBTQ+ rainbow in a sprawling heap? Well, life is never quite as straight as it seems…
Yorkshire lesbian Jessica Rowbottom stars in a one-woman show describing the coming-out experience with original songs and tales which are sometimes funny, occasionally poignant, frequently emotional and most definitely queer.
As she tries to find labels for her own gender identity and sexuality, Jessica recounts unexpected reactions from family and friends, dating disasters, growing up with section 28 in the 80s, straights at Pride, trans toilet panics and a creepy bloke who may (or may not) be called Dave…
Joyful, with a heart of gold” – Lost In Theatreland
“The queer Victoria Wood” – Yorkshire Post
“Clever patter and original musical gems” – Metro UK
“An LGBTQ+ driven musical trinket box” – Get In Her Ears
“A Yorkshire lesbian icon” – Exposed Mag
Plus special guest DING FRISBY: An intergalactic, guitar-wielding drag thing writing glam-punk anthems and queer comedy songs. Crash landed in Huddersfield, Ding’s gigged across the nation, from the Edinburgh Fringe to the grand final of Europe’s biggest drag king contest, Man Up!. They have recently been commissioned by Sheffield Theatres to voyage towards a full-length gig theatre show exploring B-movie aliens, queer-coded villains and how they might save the world.
